I have uneven damaged hair I wanted to know if its best I go to the beauty salon and start from there?

I have a whole bunch of hair loss in the front of my hair one side is straight & silky and even the other side is straight SHORT I wanted to know If I should start going to the beauty salon let them cut it about up to my neck & start letting them do my perms?

If you have damaged hair, do NOT get it permed. It will dry it out. And get it cut into a sleek bob
