Do I have to be a cosmotologist to open or buy a beauty salon?
I am planning to buy a beauty salon in texas but I am not a cosmotologist, Does texas law allow me to buy a beauty salon and rent the station or give them on comission bases to the appropriate professionals to run the place?
As best as I can tell, the Texas cosmetology laws require a license if you are an individual performing cosmetology services, not as the owner of the salon. You could own the salon and either rent booth space or employ licensed cosmetologists to provide services. (Some salons operate with a mix of employees and independent professionals who rent space). i dont think you would need it to open up a buisness.. b/c in the end its a buisness
Although, it would be smart to have education in whatever buisness it is your trying to open…
but then again. you can hire workers for that.
Overall, i doubt you need to be a cosmotologist in order to do that.
